Tinkerfest is a one-day festival that celebrates the creative, curious, and innovative spirit in all of us. Tinkerfest brings together makers, artists, and tinkerers to showcase their work while inviting attendees of all ages to join in on the DIY fun! During the festival the entire center (inside and outside) will be activated with activities that spark curiosity and ignite creativity.

East Bay: Summer Saunter in the Redwoods

Beat the summer heat with a walk in the shade of Oakland's redwood forest. Oakland is named for the coast live oak, but it was once home to some of the world's largest redwoods. We'll walk beneath the "youthful" decedents of those ancient giants and share some forest folklore and fascinating facts about California's state tree. This is a moderate hike of four to five miles with several hundred feet in elevation change.
