The Alameda County Fair returns to the Fairgrounds in Pleasanton June 14-July 7, 2019 with new rides, mouthwatering treats, show–stopping entertainment, and four full weekends of fun in the sun. The Fair will open with its popular Cattle Drive down main street in downtown Pleasanton at 10:30 am on Friday, June 14. This year, the fair will also offer free admission until 3pm on opening day. The carnival fun returns bigger and better than ever with the brand-new thrill ride Mega Flip, which lifts riders high in the air while spinning and twisting.

Big Trees Trail, Oakland, CA
On this beautiful forest hike, you will learn a very new and effective approach to mindful meditation while hiking at normal speed. The meditation technique you will learn can also be used in the midst of daily activities. This is a 3.25 hour (3.2 mile) hike through redwood and mixed forest on a Big Trees - Sequoia Bay View - Sunset – Palos Colorados trail loop in Joaquin Miller Park. Included are verbal meditation instructions along the way as well as a short sitting meditation session toward the end of the hike. The trail is considered moderate with an elevation gain of 350 feet. For those concerned about their fitness, the average hiking speed is about 2mph.
